Systemic literature searches were carried out using taking into consideration databases; Pubmed, Scifinder, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Medline, Embase, Google Scholar and Web of Science using the key words,turmeric, C. longa, curcuminoids, curcumin, bioavailability, bioenhancer, pharmacokinetic, phytosome, liposome, analogs, metal complexes and nanoparticles (NPs) and a library search for articles published in peer-reviewed journals and as well as locally user-available books.
